On August 11, PetroChina and Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (CHALCO) signed Phase-Ⅱ strategic cooperation agreement for purchase and sale of petroleum coke in Beijing. According to the agreement, PetroChina will supply CHALCO with petroleum coke and related services of high standard and quality. CNPC Vice President Shen Diancheng and CHALCO Vice President Jiang Yinggang had a friendly discussion and attended the signing ceremony.

CHALCO is China's largest alumina and primary aluminum producer and the world's second largest alumina producer. PetroChina and CHALCO signed the Phase-Ⅰ strategic cooperation agreement for purchase and sale of petroleum coke in 2008.
